Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is a gate that opens the student's minds to a whole new world of possibility!

My school is a title 1 school, meaning that the majority of our students are low socio-economic.

They are often from single parent homes. We also do not have a PTA. The students often do not have a lot of support at home, so all of our learning and practice have to come at school. They love using technology! It makes the learning so much more fun to them! Very often, they are hard to motivate when it comes to classwork. I have found that technology is an amazing resources for the students in my class. They use it and don't even realize they are learning!

My Project

The laptops and iPads will be used to run programs and apps to help practice skills that they have previously learned. They can also use them to reinforce the concepts we are learning at school in all subjects. Another great use for these are to have the students research topics on them and then create presentations using the various programs and apps that the iPad and laptops have to offer. The speakers are a great way to practice fluency in reading and in math facts. They can record themselves and then play it back and listen. Also, the speakers are small enough that they are portable for little hands to move around the room. The headphone splitters and the pencil sharpener are both to help our classroom run more smoothly. The headphone splitters are so that more students can use the iPad and laptop at a time. The pencil sharpener is to help us have utensils to write with.

As a donor, you are truly making a difference in these students lives, my life, and the lives of the many students I will have in the future.

All of these items will help teach the students responsibility in taking care of our items and sharing them with each other. Thank you for taking the time to read about my class and for considering donating to our project. We appreciate people like you so much!!
