Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of individuals that come from all parts of the five boroughs. They come from a diverse community and speak over five different languages. They are all held at the highest standard of academic achievement and are embraced by their cultural diversity. My students come from low-income families and are a mix of English Language Learners and students with disabilities. They all are bright individuals with various learning needs and levels of academic needs and value the importance of learning for growth and development.

We create different opportunities for student learning and growth in the classroom that is tailored to their learning needs.

My Project

Technology, as we know is forever changing and children are becoming more engaged with them more than books. iPads are a great way to introduce and reinforce skills and content that is being taught to students. Because my students come from low-income households and have very limited resources at home, iPads will keep my students more engaged and active in the classroom.

It will also motivate my students to explore beyond the content that is learned in the classroom.

Since half of my students in the classroom are students with needs, technology provides a unique and authentic learning experience. Exposure to content that is seen on the iPads help solidify what is learned and can be used to acquire new content.
