Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach two AMAZING groups of 4th grade students (32 sweet faces in all)! These kiddos have been working hard all year long to learn the new curriculum of 4th grade. Many of my students come from a low socio-economical background, preventing them from having access at home to technology.

As a teacher, it is my goal to expose them to various methods of research through my instruction.

This new source of technology will help me to do just that!!

My Project

Through the use of these new tablets, my students will have exposure to extended research for science and social studies. Students will also be able to practice and become proficient in their math facts through various applications. Students will work individually or with partners to create a new sense of understanding of technology. Through various applications, students can create presentations of their learning to share with the class. Next year, students will be required to take on-line state assessments. Being familiar with technology will help them to develop a better understanding and comfort level before testing. These tablets will be kept in safe child-friendly cases with smudge-proof screen protectors.
