Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In this era technology is the number one teaching tool for students of all ages. My students are eager young learners who thrive on their education. The students in my class love to use websites such as I-station, Khan Academy and Reflex to improve their learning.

My school is a very small location with only 10 teachers who truly love what they do.

Our students are middle class and mostly from a Hispanic background. Although English may not be the primary language for many of my students they try their hardest to succeed at anything they attempt.

My Project

I currently have 34 first grade students with access to only two computers. While creating a schedule in order for all the students to gain fair access has been challenging but we have been able to manage thus far. With the aid of this laptop not only will students have another computer in the classroom but they can easily move around the room with it for example if working in a group. Along with the laptop a keyboard is necessary for students to practice their typing skills and a carrying case to store the laptop safely when not in use such as after school.

With the use of this technology in my classroom students will have on the go access to education at anytime and anywhere.

Students will be able to access the web and look up research on a science project for an example that we may be completing outdoors or can use the technology to record their findings from labs done as a group. The easy to attach keyboard will allow students to learn better typing skills that will improve their education.
