Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second grade students are English Language Learners who come from families of low socioeconomic status. They speak Spanish and are mastering English. They come from humble homes who can't provide them with many material things. These families do their best to make ends meet. Some share their food and shelter with relatives, but despite these disadvantages they are eager and motivated to learn. They come to school with a smile and are ready to prepare themselves to succeed and take pride in their work. They are ready to explore the world of technology in their learning.

My Project

I am requesting 5 headphones, 3 Chromebooks and 1 wireless adapter to complete a group set for use in our blended learning grouping. I want to integrate technology in my lessons and use it to support curricular goals. Technology will help students acquire the skills they need to survive in a complex, highly technological knowledge-based economy.

My students need to have more opportunities to explore the true potential technology offers in learning.

Learning through projects while equipped with technology tools allows students to be intellectually challenged while providing them with a realistic snapshot of what the modern office looks like.
