My students love art! The art room is a favorite place for the students at my school. Students love to create and are excited every time it's art day!
My school is an urban neighborhood Title One elementary school with almost 600 students, all of whom receive free breakfast and lunch.
My school is a two-way bilingual school, teaching students in both English and Spanish. My school is an International Baccalaureate PYP school, where our students learn to become global thinkers. My school has a large variety of after school clubs available to our students at no extra charge.
My Project
In the Art room, students love to create using a wide variety of techniques such as painting, drawing, collage, clay, weaving, and many more!
My students love Art almost as much as they love Technology!
Often, Art class is organized in hands-on centers, which is a favorite amongst my students since they can choose activities they are interested in. I’d love to have a technology center where student can use art apps to create as well as research art that interests them.
Having iPads in the Art room that students can access easily will help bring technology to my Title 1 students, something many do not have to use at home.
