My Students

My students are prime examples of the meaning Houston Strong. The vast majority of my students are At-Risk, Economically Disadvantaged youth who work hard and strive for a better future even after losing everything due to Hurricane Harvey! As a Title I Middle School located in Northeast Houston, resources and technology are very limited. However, this does not limit my students ability to achieve academic success in the classroom. Even after losing everything due to Hurricane Harvey my students are still fully committed to their success in the classroom.

My Project

To help prepare my students for their future careers my students need access to technology.

The iPads will be used to enhance interactions among students in the classroom and with myself by encouraging collaboration.

Students will use the iPads in workstations to view videos on Brainpop. Students will also use the iPads to complete research projects and create student led projects using Excel and Microsoft word.

The iPads will open my students up to an incredible amount of new opportunities. From learning how to code to learning how to better collaborate across teams and with their instructors. The iPads will empower my students to be more creative and be more connected.
