Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My ICT students are smart, vibrant, inquisitive, and love to learn new things. We have a mixture of students with disabilities, English language learners, and general education students. They are the children of recent immigrants, English as second language kids, trying to master reading in English. As ENL students, they are learning new sounds and vocabulary.

The school community is Title I with all my students qualifying for free lunch due to their economic status.

Their parents are recent immigrants and are not in a position to help their kids since they are not English speaking themselves. My kids struggle with phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension skills, which creates difficulties in reading.

My Project

Our students are growing up in a modern world filled with technology. Technology is a wonderful way to enhance our learning. A class iPad would be a way to bring engaging activities to our students.

In our classroom, we do not have enough technology for the students.

It is so important to have a fun and engaging learning environment. With an iPad, we can have a learning center where students can do activities on educational apps and websites. We can also use an iPad to make QR codes and attach videos to our work and model activities on the smartboard for students to share their learning.

Our students would also benefit from a projector. We can use this to provide differentiated instruction to students in a separate area from the board.
