This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am currently teaching at a school that was displaced for two years due to flooding in Louisiana. This was very difficult for the students because not only did they lose their safe learning environment, but many lost their homes as well.
My students have so much potential, and I strive to provide them with everything they need in order to succeed!
Through my experience, teaching is much easier and the students show more growth when necessary materials are available for use in our classroom. Unfortunately, I cannot always provide the necessary materials.
My Project
I am always striving to get my students the materials they deserve. Our classroom has recently lost our 1:1 Chromebooks so I am trying to build it back up one Chromebook at a time. My students really love having the ability to have their own Chromebook to travel with from class to class. My students are always using their Chromebooks to build up their knowledge. I hate to see this taken away from them.
I will do anything in my power to get us back to where we need to be!
My students will also benefit from a class set of headphones to use with their Chromebooks. The monitor stand, lap desks, and other materials in my project will be used on a daily basis to keep my classroom functioning to the best of its ability.
