My Students

This amazing group of students deserves the world handed to them on a silver platter because I have not had the opportunity to work with a set of kids that work as hard as they do. They don't let the societal constraints of what living in an inner-city school district define them, their character, and selves. They keep chugging and are excited to learn every day about new things and share their thoughts and ideas. These kids will change the world.

My Project

One desktop computer will help me change how I teach my students. With this new "normal", I've had to shift how I teach my students. This has been a change that I've welcomed with open arms. I'm really enjoying finding new and creative ways to reach my students virtually. This has been an extremely fascinating experience and I look forward to continuing to grow in this facet.

As, the technology liaison at my school, I've found myself finding importance in reaching out to my school staff and spend the time teaching how they can use technology to reach all OUR students.

These past weeks, I've held countless virtual meetings, screen sharing, hosted virtual professional developments, phone calls, messages, emails all to help lift my school site and reach the ultimate goal of continuing to be there for all our students.

Unfortunately, in all this extreme growth, I've found my 10-year-old laptop is not able to handle all this content and consistent usage and so it crashes on me almost daily and I fear that it will ultimately die on me and I won't have the funds to get a computer that will support all that I am aiming to do in order to support my students to the best of my abilities.
