My Students

I want students to be able to use more technology in the classroom. A research study showed that students in kindergarten who were using iPads scored much higher on literacy tests than students who were not. Amazon Fire will allow us the same opportunities!

My students are children in kindergarten and first grade in a dual immersion program.

My school is a K-5 Mandarin dual-language program. The students spend the majority of their day learning Mandarin. They are intuitive and sponges when it comes to learning, especially technology. They have already mastered Chromebooks, and created their own Google Slides presentation on Hurricanes. I want to continue their growth, and using tablets is the way. Tablets will enhance their learning experience even more and support their English to allow them to become stronger students in English language arts. I want to empower my students through English language arts and technology.

My Project

These Kindle Fire tablets, headphones, and cases will be used during my English time. Students will be completing a variety of activities with these. They will visit their favorite sites during independent time like BrainPop Jr. and Storyline Online. They will also have apps that will be added to the tablet to help with sight words, rhyming, and other important English skills. Furthermore, students will be able to use these to scan QR codes for independent reading as well as research non-fiction projects. Lastly, we will be able to incorporate many different subjects with these tablets like science. As the English teacher, I do not get to teach science or social studies, but these tablets will let me seamlessly incorporate core subjects into our lessons. These tablets will help my students improve their English and technology skills at the same time, and will empower my students through language arts.

This project will make a difference because it will allow my students to become global learners, making every instructional minute count.

I am getting my students ready for the future and incorporating technology into the classroom. These tablets will be a game changer in my classroom and the possibilities will be endless.
