Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I teach an adorable group of Gifted Third Graders that are thirsty for knowledge. They are hands on learners that like to work in pairs or in groups. They enjoy sharing their thoughts and experiences.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds ethnic backgrounds including Central and South America.

Most of the students at my school qualify for free or reduced lunch. Some of my students speak both English and Spanish. Four students are in the ESOL program which means they are learning English as a second language. A few of my students have siblings at home while others are the only child at home. Many of my students have both parents working and are in after-school care program.

My Project

The use of a laptop computer will certainly aid in helping my students complete many of the required programs provided by our school district. With a class of 23, it is not easy to be able to get them on computers daily. But with the additional laptop computer, my students will have a better chance at completing their assignments. Also, the surge protector and splitter are essential in protecting the laptop and accessing the wifi network.

This year, our school district has adopted new math resources for our students.

However, all of these resources are found online instead of in books or manuals. In order for the students to be able to work on these resources, we need to be able to print them. This is why my students need the ink for the printers.
