Our students have to overcome the many obstacles that come with poverty, yet come to school excited and ready to learn!
Many of my students lack adequate housing, clothing, and nutrition. Students receive free breakfast and lunch daily and students are able to take a free food bag home weekly to help ensure they receive healthy meals. When our students' needs are met outside of school, we are better able to ensure that when they come to school they are able to learn without distractions.
Our students love being at school and despite the challenges they face are curious, respectful, and loving. They work hard to meet their goals in the classroom and to absorb as much knowledge as they can! Students at our school are determined to overcome adversity before them and to enjoy each day at school enthusiastically.
When students enter my art room, they are able to learn about the world around them through creative exploration in a supportive environment where they have no fear of being wrong.
My Project
These tablets will help teach my students the skills to help them be successful in digital art making, while also reinforcing technology as a tool for learning.
They will be able to conduct research on their art projects and use helpful art applications and websites to enhance creative learning with 21st century skills.
We will be able to incorporate more STEAM projects into our curriculum with immediate access to technology. Students will be able to learn in new ways and tablets will open new pathways to explore the arts. I can't wait to see what they are able to create with new tablets at their fingertips.
