My Students

I teach elementary and middle school students in a New York City public school of ages ranging from 4 to 5 year-olds to 14 year-olds. Our focus is visual arts, but we incorporate many subjects within our art studio class when we create. Each one of my artists communicates best in a certain art medium, but while we are together working in the classroom, they try many other mediums that may be new to them

Throughout my 15 years of teaching young artists, I am still in awe by what my students create with when problem-solving an idea into an art piece.

My students are inquisitive, imaginative, and thoughtful. They are always full of questions and observations.

My Project

My students have been working on observational sketches, perspective drawings, yearbook and t-shirt designs, photography, and sculptures, but what they need is a chance to use the technology that is widely available all around the world into their art studio work.

My artists need tablets as a positive technology outlet to draw, design, illustrate, photograph, animate, and edit their work within our art studio.

With the help of tablets, my students will be motivated to create all they have imagined to make their work come alive. Please help them put their creative visions from paper to the screen and then in print!
