Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hardworking fourth graders that come from the diverse families of Miami. Many of my students are coming in as English language learners and are adjusting to not only learning rigorous material but learning in a new language. They are learning all about what it means to be kind, responsible, and safe in and outside of the classroom. Their parents can be very supportive and want their children to receive a great education.

My students love reading and writing.

Helping develop their skills is essential to their success. They improve with assistance and are always willing to try their best.

My Project

These materials will make a big difference in the content I can reach my students with. With additional Chromebooks, students will be able to work in centers, or with our online reading program i-Ready. In addition, I will be able to use the smart TV to project my students' lessons from online sources such as Mystery Science, or BrainPOP.

Students use class computers daily, and often these computers are not working or are unreliable.

Having additional Chromebooks will help all students access online materials. I also believe computer or tech literacy is extremely important and having students working with tech daily is an amazing opportunity.

I also believe there are many kinds of learners. Many English language learners need visuals to help them learn. Having a smart TV that allows for this projection would be great.
