Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am trying to better reach my students who represent an array of learning styles and needs.

It is my goal to increase the amount of science equipment so that we can better achieve STEM standards and be college and career ready.

I would also like for my students to recognize how separate subjects connect.

I am requesting pulse oximeters so that my students can test different exercises that affect pulse rate. Students will design their own experiment and work in research teams to collect data and present findings to their colleagues. They will compare their pulse rates taken manually with their pulse rates taken when using the pulse oximeter. They will draw conclusions about the benefits of technology as well as exercises that best help to promote heart health.

These materials will help my students to practice science in gym class while understanding the importance of technology.
