This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is the wave of the future. Each year my students get more tech savvy and more interested in learning.

I am a New York City public school teacher.

I teach first grade and my students love school. My job is to keep them excited about learning. One way to do that is through the use of technology. My students come from poor neighborhoods. Most of them live in shelters in a single parent household. Many students do not have a computer at home. Throughout my years of teaching, I have found that technology is something that really interests my students.

My Project

These resources will be very beneficial to my students. I will be able to show them how to surf the web and find information. They will be able to use the laptop to play educational games and watch educational videos. With the document camera, I can project pictures to accompany my lessons, I can share student work, read aloud stories, and so much more. All children learn in different ways and these resources will definitely help those children that are visual learners.

I teach in a school with very limited resources.

I can barely get pencils and paper, let alone a computer. Technology is very important in this day and age. These resources will be a great experience for my students and a much needed tool for my teaching practice. For most of my students, having this computer in their class will be the only access to a computer that they will have. Help me prepare these young children for success in this technological age. Your donation will help so many students.
