Technology for ESL Instruction

Help me give my students the technology to access online lessons. Additionally this will help me provide for my ESL students so they can more actively participate in class, and assist them with language development.

My Students

My student population this year is mainly ESL students, as well as students who lack the resources to buy technology, in order to complete work in class or from home. My students are in need of a lot of support in order for them to be successful. A good number of my students lack the technology and resources to learn in class or even at home. They might have a phone, but lack adequate technology like a tablet, which can be necessary to easily complete class assignments or projects. Access to technology would aid in communication, completion of projects, and will allow students to access online lessons and complete assignments.

The pandemic, economic downturn, and lack of technology at home has increased the learning difficulties of my students.

Numerous students in my class have emailed begging for technology and I really need your help. Please help me provide them some technology to borrow while they are forced to learn from home or in class. The funding that you provide will help provide technology for students, which can also be used in the classroom when students return.

My Project

These resources can be used from home and school, in order to help students who can't afford it. ESL students are learning English as a new language in addition to their studies, and many struggle to read, write, and listen to instruction. Providing them with technology that they otherwise have no access to can help easily bridge that gap. Kids can more easily translate and complete assignments while also using the technology to build vocabulary and increase comprehension. Using a computer or a tablet could be used to translate instructions, complete the assignment, and interact with their teacher.

My ESL students need technology to be engaged and improve their language skills, but due to the pandemic some students can't reach their classroom lessons, teacher, or communicate effectively because of a lack of access to appropriate technology.

Unfortunately, without the support of donors like yourself, some of these students will be left behind. Anything that can be done to help these students makes it easier for them to succeed.
