Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Although my students are young, they are extremely tech savvy. They love technology and a new computer will help to continue their development.

The students in my classroom present as atypical learners, but they are brilliant.

They quickly learn about a wide variety of topics and truly enjoy learning. Many of these early learners are reading sentences and all have some level of phonemic awareness. As atypical learners, it is important to differentiate instruction and one way to accomplish this is to provide them with a wide variety of resources such as sensory play, books, and technology. They have already demonstrated a joy of using technology and the requested resource will continue to help them to grow.

My Project

A new computer will help my students continue to grow and increase skills in many domains, including; academics, social skills, and speech & language skills. There are many built in applications that will help with social skills, such as I-movie and photo booth. These applications increase objectives such as conversational skills, turn taking, and eye-contact. Additionally, there are many academic applications that can be added onto the computer, including applications that focus on math skills, sight words, and reading. My students have demonstrated that they are tech savvy through the use of the classroom I-pad and Smart Board.

My students have demonstrated a tremendous amount of growth over the two years I have worked with them.

They have been placed on the path of life-long learning and I truly believe that they will achieve greatness as they continue along this path. The resource requested will continue to help them reach their full potential.
