My Students

My students come from inner-city Title 1 school. Many have limited access to technology at home. This year we are learning about New York City. Students absolutely love using Google Earth to virtually travel around the city and the world. Using technology helps my students explore aspects of the world they have never been to or seen.

My students with special needs rely on technology daily to assist with unique learning needs.

Students are engaged and learn the best during hands-on activities and having access to technology. We discussed the possibility of getting new iPads in our classroom, which made students super excited to be able to explore Google Earth, read or having online books read to them, learn through online math games, etc.

We are also looking into using greenscreen app to create presentation about our nonfiction unit.

We thank you in advance for your support!

My Project

Students in my classroom will learn using technology, which will make abstract ideas come alive through using visual and multimedia applications. My students have various special needs, that require individualized educational planning including highly engaging material to help support understanding as well as assistive technology to support writing and reading skills.

Students will use iPads daily to practice academic skills and to better understand material through use of engaging and educational online applications.

In our classroom we use technology across all subjects, but often old laptops break or take a long time to load which results in lost instructional and independent work time. Having new working iPads in the classroom will help me run the classroom smoothly meeting every child’s unique needs throughout the day.

Use of iPads will help me prepare individual plans for each student, keep track of progress and assess.

Thank you for supporting students with special needs.
