My Students

The students in my fourth grade classroom are made up of diverse backgrounds, both culturally and economically. They are academically diverse as well and have different needs and strengths which need to be continually addressed. My class is made up of general education students and students with special needs. Many of the students are economically disadvantaged, with approximately 75 percent of the school qualifying for free or reduced lunch. The students in my class are energetic, eager to learn, and enjoy coming to school every day. They love being challenged and learning new things. Our classroom is a wonderful community filled with amazing students.

My Project

My classroom is very limited in technology. I would love to incorporate more technology into my curriculum, especially in areas of math and literacy. IPads would be extremely beneficial in being able to do this. Many of my students do not have access to iPads or computers at home and I want to be able to teach them the skills necessary to compete in the 21st century.

These iPads would be used in my classroom in various ways.

These would include research, publishing, and learning how to use the various educational apps which will support the needs of all my students. Students could use the iPads to collaborate, assess their work and the work of other students, and take photographs to demonstrate their learning process and products.

I want my students to be motivated and capable learners who also have the technology skills to be able to be successful in college and beyond. Thank you so much in advance for your support of this project!
