My Students

My students are energetic and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.

Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online.

The children and their families often lack technology and some even internet access. Many depend on worksheets or packets that they must be able to pick up from our school or use whatever books they have at home.

Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners. Because of this, I work very hard to make sure the students at our school receive the learning, resources, and exposure they need to surpass what some statistics may say. With Chromebook access, we will be able to provide even more opportunities for students to feel successful and overcome challenges.

My Project

Currently there are a lot of questions in regards to school this fall. One thing we do know is that whether we are inside or outside of the classroom, things are going to look different! Some of my students lack the materials they need to be successful during remote learning. Many of them are in desperate need of a computer to access online material.

My students would be able to use the Chromebooks to access our online Google classroom.

This will provide them with daily live lessons from their teachers, access to quizzes to track progress, downloadable worksheets and a platform to remain social with their teachers and peers. In addition, my students will use the donated Chromebooks to access academic learning platforms, such as Lexia, iXL or Zearn.
