Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are fun-loving, energetic, and eager to learn Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade ELLs, who attend school in an urban setting. We are focusing on phonics, vocabulary, reading and writing instruction so that all students are becoming familiar with the English language and become fluent in the future.

Our school's motto is "Pride, Achieve, Excellence." This goes hand-in-hand with the chancellor's Excellence & Equity For All Initiative.

We believe that all students deserve an education that will allow them to be college and career ready.

My Project

Phonics activities are the most crucial time for English Language Learners! Students complete different hands-on activities to engage their mind and body in learning how to decode and read. Having a wide variety of hands-on activities will provide differentiation within our literacy block so that each student's unique needs are met. Not only will these Hot Dots(r) phonics electronic resources help our students to pronounce the sounds in the American English correctly, but they will also promote learning independence.

This project will make a difference for my students because it will incorporate hands-on activities and technology into our phonics program.

The most important way students learn, is through play. Help us use these fun resources in our classrooms!
