Many of our students come from shelters and single parent homes therefore they're often lacking supplies for school. It's also difficult to plan classroom trips that would enhance their learning because many can't afford the planned trips. We’re also lacking technology such as laptops and iPads and art supplies in our classroom.
Any aid will be beneficial and a welcome change for our students who comes ready to learn each day despite their needs and deficiencies.
If you’re able, please reach out to our students!
My Project
The school has a wonderful reading program called I-ready. It’s built to be compatible with the Common Core Learning Standards. I-Ready Diagnostic & Instruction is proven to improve student outcomes. I-Ready combines a valid and reliable adaptive, diagnostic, and personalized instruction However, most of the students can’t practice because there’s not enough access to this computer base program.
We need these laptops so students can work to improve their reading skills.
In this program students get access to see where they are, then it generates assignments for that student. This program generates reports for teachers to see where students are and how they can help students meet their reading goals.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
