Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I am requesting will assist my students in making meals with ease. Some of my students are not able to use some of the tools needed to cook. If the students learn to use kitchen tools that are easy to use just by pressing a button, they will feel confident and will learn to make meals for themselves in the future. Using a microwave to cook meals for my students that are not able to use a stove due to their challenges will help them be independent when they live on their own. Using a food processor can also assist my students that are not able to cut but can put things in a cup then press a bottom to cut their vegetables and or herbs to cook them. Hand mixers are a faster and easy way for the students to mix to learn to bake. My students have different challenges and these tools will help each one of them use the tools appropriate for their individual learning.

My goal is that all my students no matter their challenges will enjoy cooking and at the same time learn that they can make meals on their own.

My students are eager to learn about cooking. They wish to be independent once they leave our Special Education school. By learning to cook with ease they can reach this goal.
