Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education teacher in the South Bronx. My classroom consists of a mixture of general education and special education students. Students in my classroom range in academic levels and needs.

My students are a group of excited, happy, and motivated learners who enjoy the learning process.

They attend a school in a low-income neighborhood, and 100% of the students at our school receive free meals.

My students need access to technology in the classroom daily, as they only have it once a week as part of their schedule. In a world, where mostly everything is online, it's important for me to give as many opportunities for students to have access to technology and prepare them for college. Thank you kindly.

My Project

In a world where technology has become pervasive, students at my school have limited access to technology. This lack of access is hindering their academic progress. With these laptops, students will be able to engage in center based learning projects for research, to track their academic progress, and to work on tailored math and reading programs that meet their individual needs.

Students in my classroom are always so excited to use technology!

With your donation, we will be able to use the laptops and headphones I've requested directly inside the classroom. Students will be able to work on research based projects, use online resources to track their learning, and work on customized activities based on their individual needs. This will happen in all subject areas including Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. It helps them research during social studies and they became China experts this year. It enhances their motivation to read and to write. Please help their learning soar!
