Technology Accessories for Mrs. Piscopo's Earth Science Students

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a title I school in NYC. My students come from diverse backgrounds and each of them study in a Career and Technical Education program. Our students learn trades such as automotive, architectural engineering, graphic design, carpentry, software engineering or entrepreneurship.

My students enjoy learning on a digital platform and I have been working on creating a science curriculum that is student centered and creates and environment where students are the ones making meaning of the information in the class.

My students are interested and invested in learning more about the Earth and the way that it works, they are curious and engaged in learning about science and how science works.

My Project

My Earth Science classroom uses 1 to 1 technology where students engage with an interactive digital notebook to complete all of their assignments.

In order to best utilize the technology that we already have I would like to provide all of my students a laptop stand, mouse, and a pair of headphones.

The laptop stands will allow students to see the computer screens more easily without need to hunch over to see the screen. Mice will allow the students to manipulate google slides more easily and each student will have their own pair of headphones in the class so that they are able to choose whether they want to listen to an audio version of a text versus reading it themselves.
