Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an incredible group of children from diverse backgrounds. They arrive in school motivated and ready to learn. These children are creative, eager to experiment and search for new ways to solve situations and problems. As part of our curriculum, they are responsible for a certain number of technology experiences. This becomes very difficult when they do not have the resources available at home. My students come from low income homes where the parents have to work more than one job to sustain their needs.

My Project

Many of my students come from low income families, struggling daily to meet their needs. Most of them do not have access to a computer or the internet at home, therefore it makes it more difficult for them to complete on-line programs required by our district. With a limited number of computers in my classroom, it makes it difficult for each student to have ample time to use these programs.

With the four computers that we have, along with additional laptops, my students will be able to have access to these programs daily and they can use them with fidelity.

All students, regardless of their economic background, should have access to enriching programs offered. I know that my English Language Learners and my struggling readers would benefit from the use of on-line programs regularly.
