Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are some of the brightest second and third graders you will ever meet. They have a true passion for reading, math and science. Their young minds are thirsting for knowledge and it is truly exciting to be a part of their learning process.

Unfortunately, they are recovering from Hurricane Irma and come from low income homes where their parents struggle to help with homework and projects due to their limited English proficiency.

Our school is a Title I School that tries to provide all that is needed to help our students but due to budget cuts, it becomes very difficult to do so. I usually find myself trying to come up with creative ways to pay for the materials needed for class projects. More than 95% of our school is on free or reduced price lunch. These families struggle financially.

My Project

My students will benefit from your donations because you will be providing them with the tools necessary to prepare for today's world. Technology in the classroom is essential and with the laptop and tablets we are requesting, we will be able to research science and social studies topics right from their desks. We will also use the laptop and tablets to do Accelerated Reader and i-Ready which are two computer programs that increase their reading and math skills.

Your donations will make a positive impact in the lives of my students who have been through Hurricane Irma.

You will be providing them with basic materials and technology in the classroom. Furthermore, you will be providing them with an opportunity to succeed. It is my hope that you will be a part of this journey that shows our youth that education is important and should be our number one priority. Thank you.
