Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an enthusiastic and curious group of kindergarten, first and second-graders in a self-contained (small class) bilingual special education setting who are currently learning REMOTELY from home each school day. We LOVE learning and we do so in different ways- seeing, hearing, touching, and moving about. My class is a diverse group of learners with challenges such as learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, cognitive delays, and learning English as a second language. I strive every day to engage students in learning with entertaining and motivating lessons that capture their attention and spark their thinking. As I am teaching virtually, I need to use many colorful visuals and multimedia daily.

In order for my students to participate in engaging and meaningful lessons that allow them to access curriculum content taking their learning needs into consideration, we need some additional supplies and resources to help optimize the use of their tablets and laptops.

Therefore, I am asking for help in providing the supplies and resources I need to continue to promote an effective and enjoyable learning experience for my students.

My Project

The tech tools I am requesting will help improve my students' virtual learning experience from home. These tools will allow me to use a wider variety of online programs and platforms to plan and deliver instruction. My students will be able to maximize the use of their tablets and laptops! It is important for learners, especially the younger students to hold a pencil and write. The drawing pads and styluses will allow them to do just that. The document camera will allow me to share engaging texts during our virtual lessons and model good writing and problem-solving strategies in math. As a result, students will benefit from a richer online learning experience!
