Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a low income school, but we are exceptional in every way. We have a 7 Star Distinction that only 4 other school have to earn in Houston Independent School District which is comprise of 300 schools. This shows the dedication that my students have to achieve success in their lives.

I have been able to have 90% of my students to become successful on the 8th grade Math STAAR test despite what other may consider a bad stacked hand.

Most schools in my district have only around 60% pass the 8th grade Math STAAR test. My students been able to over come low income families, extreme family issues, and negative influences everyday. I know that my students want the best for themselves, therefore I put my best foot forward everyday. Hopefully everyone is able to see that I teach a exceptionable set of students and they need the best education available.

My Project

HISD and Burbank is pushing for the use of technology in the classroom. I would think that it would be wonderful to have my students be able to share their learning by making mini-movies and other electronic media. The Apple TV is a great way for my students to broadcast their ideas to the class and explain their learn and thought process. Our school has Ipad carts and we use them all of the time in the classroom. The Apple TV and the technology that we already have will be a great way for me to accomplish this goal and enhance the learning experience.
