Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and share their many diverse experiences and perspectives as we expand our love for and knowledge of science!

They are incredibly curious and eager learners who are willing and looking to tackle new challenges!

Most recently, they worked in teams to construct the longest paper chain (out of one piece of paper) in 8 minutes. They excitedly worked together, thinking critically to employ different techniques to use the whole piece of paper! Exercises like this one are important for developing a communicative, thoughtful, and supportive learning environment where learners can thrive!

My Project

I teach four classes, one of which has 26 wonderful ENL learners! A class iPad with a cover (for safety assurance) will improve the quality and speed with which we can translate content/ideas in real-time--not to mention the benefits of its portability!

Efficient communication is critical for making meaningful connections.

A class printer will help to supply all students with documents and materials that will enhance the learning process. This is especially important in a science class where we learn to document our observations and findings in data tables and graphic organizers.
