Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are living in the stone age! We are gradually approaching the digital age and we need to get their faster. Each day, when we transition to our stations/centers, my group of 5 power walk to the computer area in hopes they will be the first to log on.

My students are a bunch of tech hungry scholars.

I teach 4th grade in a high poverty area of Newark, New Jersey. Our budget consistently continues to be diminished and we are left at a great disadvantage. My students are highly motivated individuals that are constantly trying to improve their math and reading skills.

My Project

My students need three Acer Chromebooks. It will help them prepare to take computer based assessment and become familiar with using technology as a tool, rather than a toy. Our Chromebooks will be used on daily basis for station/center time. They will be creating presentations using programs like Prezi and Goggle Slides. They will also be able to critique their fellow peers' work right on Google Docs! They will be even able to work on our class website!

Donations to this project will put a smile on this teacher and all of her 4th grade students.

We need the most help we can get in order to be college/career ready. Students will be extremely happy to know that kind strangers were able to help us in this important matter. It will not only help my students for classroom projects, but it will also leave students with the impression that they are important and that we do care about their future. Having Chromebooks technology in the classroom will make students tech savvy for the 21st Century.
