This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students need to have access to working, updated technology. With two new laptops in our classroom, we can find a solution to some of the issues we run into with our current technology.

My students deserve to have access to modern technology.

Given that most students have had their devices for close to 3 years, there is a strong need for two new devices in our classroom. We often have to find solutions to devices that have broken pieces or that are no longer in service. Having these computers in our classroom would provide students with a device to use when theirs are being repaired.

Our school is nestled in the heart of South Los Angeles. We are a Title I school with a very high level of poverty in our community. As a school and community we are providing technology to students who might otherwise not have any access to it.

Access to working technology grants my students the opportunity to stay engaged, sharpen skills with apps we use in class and it is extremely beneficial to my students who are English Learners. These laptops will be utitized for writing, research projects, daily activities and various presentations throughout the year.

Your donation towards these laptop computers for our class would be greatly appreciated and, I guarantee, used on a daily basis. The access to more modern technology, on a daily basis, will let them become more computer literate, and college and career ready!

By donating to this project, you will give my students an advantage. By helping to provide the new laptops in the classroom, you will have helped level the playing field; allowing students who do not have access to such technology at home a chance to have such at school.
