My Students

My students need access to functioning technology in the classroom to be able to learn about the 21st Century utilizing the same tools they need in the outside world. It helps make the subject of history come alive when they can see film clips and use interactive maps and other app

My school is a public school which has a dual mission of arts education and academic achievement.

My students are extremely talented dancers, singers, musicians, and artists. Their major studies only serve to enhance what we do in the academic classroom. They are, quite simply, amazing and a joy to work with.

My Project

For the last several years, our school has struggled with being able to keep up with the growing and changing needs of the 21st Century classroom due to budget constraints and ever-changing technology. To access the multitude of learning styles that exist in my classroom, it helps to have functioning technology that can engage them and make history come alive. Therefore, I am trying to raise funds to purchase a MacBook Air Laptop to use with our classroom Smartboard (which requires a laptop to function) and an iPad mini to use when walking around the classroom, helping the students. Students will also be using these items, not only to learn about the topics we discuss in class, but to create and present projects utilizing up-to-date technology and using various programs that our students currently don't have access to in the classroom.

Donations to this project will allow me to reach students who grow increasingly dependent on having access to technology.

It will enable me to make history come to life before them, enabling interactive lessons and digital resources to be accessed on a daily basis.
