My classes are full of creative, talented musicians. I love to see them shine on the various instruments we incorporate throughout the year. One of our favorite units (especially during online learning) is our DAW - Digital Audio Workspace - unit. We use online DAWs to produce, mix, and master music just like our favorite artists on the radio!
Students have been using a click-and-choose, note-by-note method for their virtual instrument playing thus far, but these USB MIDI keyboards would allow them to actually play into their DAW and create their own unique sound.
Students will also use these keyboards to learn the basics and practice playing along with scores and songs as a class.
We have many piano players in after-school lessons in our school, and even more, students would thrive playing their own keyboard if given a chance. This class set would be one of three class sets of instruments that we have in our music room. Most of our instruments need to be shared and passed around after a turn or two. An entire class set of keyboards would allow everyone to follow along simultaneously and, most importantly, become completely immersed in their own creations and learning. I am so excited for the musical opportunities we could create for our scholars if given a chance with this project.
