Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students absolutely love having the freedom to move and sit wherever they would like in the classroom, which is why these items are essential in keeping the classroom environment positive. For instance, the charging station allows students to leave their computers charging in a designated area while we work on other materials like morning work, discussions, etc. Then, when we all move onto independent or online work, they can take their fully charged Chromebook with them anywhere in the classroom. Moreover, having a standing desk also allows me to move my desk around to wherever they decide to sit. This will make scaffolding much easier since I won't have to disconnect anything from the whole group & can now instead move everything with me. Headphones are also a crucial accessory when it comes to state testing & independent work because I like giving my students the opportunity to listen to music while they work. This helps create a positive vibe in the room and helps them feel like they are in a "coffee shop," as they have shared, which is something they might do throughout their educational trajectory.
