Tech Needs a Home

My Students

I am an inclusion exceptional education teacher at one of the biggest elementary schools in our county. We are a PreK-5 school with over 1000 students from diverse backgrounds. About 1/4 of our students are learning from home and the rest are in school full time like before COVID. We are part of a larger learning community, and we engage our neighboring community for food banks, needy child fund, a telemedicine clinic, club day, leadership events, parent nights, racial diversity equity group, Good News Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girls Inc., and so much more!

We are a Lighthouse status "Leader In Me" school where everyone can be a leader.

Everyone has genius, and we develop the whole child by building relationships and empowering students. We are a diverse community. Despite our large size, we partner up for many things and relationships are built beyond your own classroom. Our favorite is club days where students from multiple grades work together on things that interest them.

My Project

We have so many tech devices we share among the two teachers in the room from iPads, Chromebooks, Text Pen Readers, and more. We have 1 storage cabinet, but it is getting full quickly and the cords are a mess.

This cabinet will keep all of our technology neatly organized so students can get what they need to be successful and put it back when they are done at the end of the day.

We can implement a quick check out system for when items leave the resource room and get used in the gen ed classrooms. With vertical storage like this, I can look at the empty shelves at the end of the day and know what is missing and who has it. This will be a time and sanity saver.
