Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students at the High School are motivated and they work hard. Several of my classes have a high concentration of special needs and need to review the content of the lesson frequently.

Technology when infused with teaching practices can improve student learning.

The students come from diverse backgrounds and face many challenges. Over 90% of the students live below the poverty line and face many challenges at home and in their neighborhood. While conducting a survey it was discovered that over 45% of students do not have access to technology at home.

My Project

Currently with my lessons I create small videos for the students that go over the different concepts that I teach them. This allows the students to review material that they do not understand on their own. They can watch the videos as many times as needed, and they can do it at their own pace. Students will be able to use the headphones to watch these videos.

Some of the students have headphones they can bring in, and others do not.

Having high quality headphones will ensure that all students have access to the videos to help with their learning. It will also ensure that instruction can be differentiated and adjusted to student needs.
