My Students

Not competitive due to limited resources. We're ending the cycle this year. Having the Ipods will make accessible free programs such as: iGadget, Anapod, iwriter, Kaplan SAT prep, GoogleGet, and all of its products. The Apple TV will aid in the students presentation and speaking skills. Both items

My students are a extremely talented group of High School students who are all bused from surrounding Los Angeles communities.

We are in a high poverty, low income 95% of our student qualify for the federal lunch program offered school. We have very old technology with a group of students who are ready and willing to take on the challenge of using and learning all the facets of technology. The students are ready to create, learn, and explore the world outside of the classroom by researching, what other schools are doing and learn outside of the box. The school is very diversified in ethnicity and we house more families due to the surrounding communities and philosophy of the school. "Building our community through our Families" The Ipods will be just the tools to create an environment of enthusiasm to s body of kids who are in an undeserved area.

My Project

The iPods and Apple TV will change the lives of my students. They will be a vehicle to enhance their future. The integration of the ipods, in the absence of personal computers, will expose the students to a wealth of Internet resources, and free learning applications. Apple TV will increase students presentation and speaking skills. Being able to produce, edit, and present an end product is our goal. We need your help to get on board. We will use the ipods and the applications that utilize critical research skills, project development tools, as well as games for review of content and reinforcement of skills needed in high school and college. Children usage of technology is very limited due to lack of resources. I know that the visual, kinesthetic and auditory learners will enjoy the classroom experience. Many parents and children see technology as their entertainment, and not as a resource to improve their lives. We will use the ipods/Apple TV to change this perception of technology.

It is important because the students are excited about it.

When they are excited learning is easy..... It is also important because my students see the benefits, advantages and possibilities and making them a reality bring hope and excitement to deserving students. The requested donations will make a difference because the students will see that others find their learning experience valuable enough to support them. The donations will aid in the students being able to grow as technology grows
