Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Early learners need a variety of learning experiences to help them reach their potential and put them on the path of lifelong learning. An iPad mini is another way that I can differentiate instruction for my students.

Technology is an excellent way to help atypical learners focus and learn many new skills.

The students in my classroom are early, atypical learners who present as being on the autism spectrum. Despite this, they are absolutely brilliant and have learned so much since last year. When they first came into my program, most couldn't talk or even walk without falling. Now they are thriving and most are beginning to speak in phrases or sentences, labeling sight words, and even naming the planets, presidents, and states. I received another iPad mini through Donors Choose and it has become a highly preferred and excellent resource in increasing a variety of skills.

My Project

I am requesting the least expensive iPad mini and a protective covering so that my students will have the opportunity to independently manipulate technology and increase a myriad of skills using the countless, educational applications that are available. My students enjoy learning about topics such as planets, states, animals, presidents, and dinosaurs. The iPad mini will put all of this right at their fingertips. In addition, there is a huge library of sight word books that can easily be added onto the device which will supplement our classroom library. I am also requesting a protective covering so that my students can use this device independently without damaging it.

My students are very young but have come such a long way in a short period of time.

Your donation will continue to inspire them to continue their joy of learning and keep them on the path of lifelong learning. Resources can be difficult to secure in public schools and it's because of the generosity of others that I have been able to maintain my students' joy of learning.
