Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a wonderful group of kids that love to learn. They are part of our Intellectually Disabled unit of students and have been at our school for the majority of their Elementary school level education. I currently teach third and fifth grade. These students are inquisitive and have a passion for discovery, especially when it comes to Science. Technology makes these topics more accessible for my students, especially those with fine motor and visual challenges. I am lucky to give these children the opportunity to thrive and grow in my classroom as I also learn so much from them.

My Project

The tech that I am requesting is to assist my students with visual and fine motor challenges access materials in Science. If they had this technology, they would be able to visually process the material in a more suitable way. I also have students that haven't mastered the use of a mouse on a Personal Computer, however, they are able to navigate a touch screen.

My students with disabilities have a craving for learning and they deserve to be able to access it with ease.

Because of their individualized needs, there are daily challenges that my students face in the classroom that could be easily overcome with this accommodation. This technology could change the way that my students discover new information and communicate.
