My Students

Having little or no access to technology, my special needs students are seeking generous hearts to enable them to access digital books and Internet resources.

My students face so many challenges.

They come from low income families. They have few resources and limited access to printed materials and technology. They also have special needs (learning disabilities and low English proficiency). Our school, though still considered a low performing school, has been through the years improving its academic standing.

My Project

I am requesting an ASUS Tablet to make reading and surfing the Internet accessible to students with different needs and disabilities and a Targus leather case stand to protect this important piece of technology. The introduction of technology will open a new world for my students. Reading will no longer be boring as they will have access to digital books. These tablets have apps that will assist my students in reading. Math will not be vague as the students will be able to see practical applications of numbers and concepts. Science and social studies will come alive with access to Internet resources. As I search the Internet for educational games, my students will not even know that they are learning because they are having fun!

This may only be a piece of equipment.

This may seem to be just a piece of technology, but this piece of technology will open up a new world to my students as they step into the digital world.
