My Students

"The best way to create your future is to create it." -- Abraham Lincoln My students crave resources - including technology - to help shape their future plans and goals.

My 4th grade students are hard-working children from low-income backgrounds.

Many of them have never traveled further than their local supermarket (though we live in a large urban city) but they are inspired by the world "beyond." Bringing technology - including videos, pictures, articles, informational guides, and projects - into the classroom will further inspire them to grow and reach upwards.

My Project

Students are engaged easily by technology. These two iPad Minis will serve the purpose of enriching the students' understanding and knowledge of curriculum and the world. I plan on incorporating the technology throughout the entire day to show students mathematical applications, relate history to present day, recount stories, investigate scientific discoveries, or to bring a cultural competency that was lacking prior (and the list goes on). Currently, I use my personal laptop to share the above information, but with their own technology, students are limitless in their exploration. I will start using the iPads immediately to supplement current learning materials, stretch minds, and allow students the opportunity to not only learn, but create.

My students are ready for success and I want to help motivate and inspire them to maximize their potential.

The use of technology in the classroom will help learning come alive for these students and will deepen their interest in the world beyond the classroom walls.
