Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a 12:1+1 special education classroom in the South Bronx. Many of my students have learning disabilities. The school is located in a high poverty area.

My students are faced with hardships everyday; yet, they come to school eager to learn.

Despite obstacles put in their way, my students strive to reach their potential. School is their safe haven where I strive to provide them with all the knowledge I can with the resources that are available to me.

My Project

My classroom has been fortunate enough to receive tablets and Chromebooks from generous donors on previous projects. My students love these wonderful pieces of technology in our classroom. They have greatly benefitted all of my students with special needs.

We are in need of a few technology accessories to make our tablets and Chromebooks even better!

Having headphones with microphones will allow for my students to use these devises without interrupting the rest of the class. The microphones on the headphones help my students to speak into the Chromebooks so that it can type for them. The wireless mice will allow the Chromebooks to be easier to navigate. Many of my students struggle without the use of a mouse on the Chromebooks. Also, a charging station will help us to charge all of our tablets at once, making sure that they will always be ready to use!
