Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Physical activity goes hand-in-hand with academic learning. Many of my students lack the opportunity to participate in physical activities that involve team building skills.

My students are 4th graders from a high poverty area in southern California.

100% of my students receive a free lunch. Many of my students are unable to participate in any extra-curricular activities outside of a school setting. They are in need of exercises and games that will promote a healthy lifestyle while teaching much needed life skills.

My Project

Our classroom would love to have balls, jump ropes, team-building games, and physical education equipment that will get my students moving and exercising on a daily basis. Being able to participate in team-building games will allow them to learn problem solving skills, teamwork, and cooperation. Being able to work together will eliminate bullying!

This project is important to me because it will provide my students with the tools needed to live a healthier lifestyle.

Statistics also shows that an active child performs better academically when physically active. Being able to infuse teamwork, anti-bullying, cooperation, problem-solving, and fun is top priority.
