This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school has students who are eager to learn concepts in physical education. They come from a community who share a joy for learning. They are interested in health and sports. We have students from low-income households, students with special education services and English Language Learners.
In being a first year PE teacher I would will love to encourage more children to become healthier individuals while having fun.
My Project
My students are very interested in sports with having a full size basketball court and a track in the gym. Coming from a low income community we do not have a lot of access to equipment to spark their interested in team sports. Basketball is a favorite! I want to introduce more sport skills from volleyball, soccer, even hockey.
Keeping the students engaged with sports and physical activity in education to spark an interest in a health lifestyle.
These equipment will also help with expanding their physical activity for after school programs and teams.
