Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As educators we are taught that students learn best from each other. This year, students are working diligently to achieve their goals and close any gaps in their learning in small groups. While working in small groups, students have important roles as they facilitate, engage in discussions, problem solve and persevere through challenges. The only thing in our way is low funding and the inability to acquire proper tables to make group work successful. As our students shine in their groups, their current oddly shapes desks stand in their way, forcing them to work more independently rather than together. While many students still strive to work together around our current desks, their voices cannot be heard by classmates as they sit widely spread apart, materials constantly falling off their desks and precious learning time is interrupted.

Our students are the future leaders of the world.

They need a chance to learn from one another, learn how to work with others and they deserve to be heard in a supportive, comfortable and enjoyable learning environment. This is why we are asking for tables for our classroom community. Please support our cause, not just for our students, but for our future.
