In September, Ms. Carbone and I are thrilled to be co-teaching an amazing group of 6th graders. Our rising middle schoolers are coming to us with a range of special needs - both academic and personal. Additionally, limited financial resources, it is a struggle for our kids and their families to purchase the necessary school supplies and materials they need to do their best. It is our mission to ensure each child begins this school year armed and ready to work hard and reach their goals!
My Project
This project will provide our new 6th graders with the basic, yet essential school supplies they need in order to tackle the challenges and rigor of middle school. We believe that every child deserves to begin the new school year prepared with the necessary notebooks, folders, pencils, post-it notes, highlighters, index cards, etc. that they need to stay organized and be successful throughout the year. Additionally, special adaptive seating for our students with disabilities and a new classroom carpet will provide new shared space and seating options for our middle school students - allowing the opportunity for students to make important choices about where they work best while meeting their individual learning styles and needs. With your help, we can provide our class with the tools they need to begin the new year poised and eager to work hard, learn, and grow! We can't do this without you!
