My Students

My students come from a low income, high poverty background; however this does not depict who they really are. They are worthy of a great educational experience. Although I teach in a under privileged environment, I believe that they deserve the very same education and extra curricular as their counter parts. These KIDS ROCK!! These are my children away from their homes and I want the very best for them! Please help me make this year one of their best memories of their academic careers.

My Project

My request for downtime activities are to support the idea of the whole child. Our motto is when we work hard we play hard. Our classroom is set up and equipped for curriculum teaching , but not for supporting interactive learning during downtime. It may not seem like it is neccessary and school is for working only, but I beg to differ. Learning can take place in any situation and every circumstance. My students need to practice working together in play time as well as work time. I also believe that there are times when quiet, alone time is essential for students who just simply need a break. I pride myself in being a rigorous teacher but I am also an empathetic leader. Please help me help my students understand and support balance in their school day!
